I grew up in a small farming town in Virginia, the “Peanut Capitol of the World,” and spent my childhood in my family’s kitchen. Most days I could be found cooking with my Mom or grandmother, and soaking up all of their recipe knowledge. From the farm I was off to Virginia Tech to complete a degree in Fashion (Go Hokies!).
I then left Virginia to move to New York City to pursue a career in Fashion PR but found that my passion for cooking, entertaining, writing, and travel would mean more to me than any party or fashion show.
Young Married Chic is a website that was started by me as a way for young women (married or not) to have a resource on all things domestic. The website features daily recipes, home inspiration, travel articles, and entertaining ideas.
Why can’t we know how to entertain dinner guests (no, not by dialing for takeout) and look great while doing so? Who says you can’t carry a fancy purse by day and roast a chicken at night? Why can’t you iron a shirt after getting a manicure?
YMC was started in January 2010 and in the past 2+ years has grown steadily.
